The Green Mountain Gear Heads Sprint Cars of New England started off the Labor Day Weekend Saturday, racing at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford , VT for Valley Floors Night. With 11 cars on hand that was enough for two heat races. It was Rick Stone in the 41U taking down the win in the O'Reilly Auto Parts heat race number one. Unfortunately the 5 of Mike Kondrat got upside down, he was OK but it ended his weekend of racing. In the FK Rod ends heat number two it was Dan Douville in the 7x taking down the win . With just ten cars starting the feature it was Dan Douville taking down the win followed by Will Hull and Clay Dow. It was the first win of 2019 for Douville from Bridgewater ,NH . All teams then loaded up for the quick turn around to race on Sunday at Devil's Bowl .

Sunday the Green Mountain Gear Heads Sprint Cars of New England visited Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT for the last time in 2019. There were fourteen cars on hand for the Sprint Car Showdown which also invited 305 sprint cars to race with SCoNE. In the O'Reilly Auto Parts heat race 1 it was Will Hull taking the win . In the FK Rod ends heat 2 it was Josh Flint in a 305 taking the win. During the second heat race Dan Douville who won the previous night at Bear Ridge Speedway went for a wild ride off turn 3. The 7x flipped wildly and after a few minutes Dan was able to get out and walk with assistance to the ambulance with neck and back pain. Douville was transported to the local hospital for further evaluation.
Come feature time there were only ten cars starting the race due to mechanical problems for Floyd Billinginton and Rick Stone, and Douville's crash. It was Jake Williams and Chris Donnlely leading the field to the green. On lap two the 1 of Corey Sparks went over the edge in turn one and brought out the yellow flag. On the restart Donnelly got out to a comfortable lead pulling away from Williams and Josh Flint . Will Hull was coming quickly and closing in on the top three. After getting by Flint he set up to get by Williams and closed in on Donnelly by lap twelve, and passed him the next lap. Now the 8 car of Adam Pierson was on the move from the tenth starting spot. With two laps to go the 24 of Donnelly slowed in the backstretch bringing out the caution flag. On the restart Hull pulled away from Pierson to take the win. Pierson was second and Flint in third . Williams and Clay Dow rounded out the top five.
The next event for the Green Mountain Gear Heads Sprint Cars of New England will be at Rum Town Speedway in Wentworth, NH on Saturday September 14th for Burns Automotive Night.

A few notes from the Sprint Car Showdown at Devil's Bowl Speedway on Sunday September 1st. Will Hull of Plainfield, VT took home his second consecutive Devil's Bowl Speedway Sprint Car Track Championship with the victory. Josh Flint was the 305 bonus winner finishing third . Also SCoNE would like to pass on our thoughts and prayers to the Douville Racing team and family.
