Sprint Car “All-Star Showdown” Coming to The Flat Track at NHMS

SCoNE to have three Feature races on Friday, September 19

LOUDON, New Hampshire (September 7, 2025) – The McGee Automotive Family Sprint Cars of New England Tour (SCoNE) will be featured under an all-new spotlight at its biggest event of the season, Friday, September 19, at The Flat Track at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. The annual Sig Sauer Academy Dirt Duels event at The Flat Track once again kicks off the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff weekend on September 19-21.

The McGee SCoNE Tour is the headline division for the Dirt Duels at The Flat Track, and it brings a brand-new race format that will see not just one, but three feature races for the “winged, wild, and wicked fast” Sprint Cars.

For the first time since SCoNE joined the Dirt Duels lineup at NHMS, time trials will determine starting lineups, as drivers go all-out on the quarter-mile bullring in pursuit of a $250 bonus and the coveted pole position starting spot. The field will be split for a pair of quick, 15-lap features that each award championship points and a purse payout. Feature 1 will take the odd-number qualifiers to the starting grid (first, third, fifth, etc.), and Feature 2 will have the even-number qualifiers (second, fourth, sixth, etc.). Each race pays $500 to win and a minimum of $150 to start.

But that’s only the beginning of the fun, as each Feature will then take the top eight finishers, plus one provisional driver, to transfer into a special, 20-lap, 18-car, non-points race. The Sprint Cars of New England “All-Star Showdown” will pay $1,500 to win, $150 to start, and brings with it a load of bragging rights as the first winner of the special event.

Previous McGee SCoNE Tour winners at The Flat Track include Matt Tanner, Jordan Forwnalt, two-time winner Will Hull, and NASCAR Cup Series Playoff driver Chase Briscoe – who won in his SCoNE debut in 2023 but has since retired from Sprint Car racing. Others who have been close include Travis Billington – who has two runner-up finishes and a qualifying heat win at NHMS – and Tyler Chartrand, who was a runner-up in 2024 before embarking on his successful full-time rookie season this year.

The Flat Track’s Friday-night Sig Sauer Academy Dirt Duels card sees the McGee SCoNE Tour joined by the Xtreme Dirt Midget Association and both the 600cc and 500cc divisions of the Granite State Micro Sprints. Saturday’s action on the “Magic Mile” at New Hampshire Motor Speedway includes the Team EJP 175 Playoff Race for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the Mohegan Sun 100 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, while Sunday is the 301-lap Playoff Race for the NASCAR Cup Series.

While in Loudon, fans are also encouraged to visit the New England Racing Museum – host of the annual SCoNE awards banquet – located next to The Flat Track at the South Entrance of NHMS. The museum highlights all facets of motorsports throughout New England’s long racing history, with dozens of original and restored race vehicles, trophies, memorabilia, and interactive displays and exhibits. Among the awards in the museum is the Fred Frame Championship Trophy – SCoNE’s impressive and unique perpetual award which is on permanent display.

SCoNE rules require axle tethers, cockpit safety bars, and mufflers on all cars. Any tire and any fuel are permitted for competition, and wicker bills may be three inches (3”) maximum height. In-cockpit adjustments are not allowed, except wing sliders. Drivers are required to purchase either a full-season ($125) or temporary ($25) SCoNE license, and to file a $50 race entry fee paid directly to NHMS.
